Hello, first time poster here. I have been using SC1 for quite some time and I have to say it is great sampler.

However, I noticed a strange thing: maybe this is normal procedure with samplers but I'd like to know for sure. It seems that SC1 always uses memory like those samples were 32bit even though they are 16bit originally. My 16bit sets use double amount of system memory (as shown in task manager and in my DAW's performance meter), whereas if I use 32bit samples, the memory usage is just what is expected. 24bit samples use about 1,5 times more memory, which fits to this theory. Is this the case and more importantly is there anything I can do about it? I am still on a 32-bit Windows XP and I have 2GB RAM, so there isn't so much that I can do with that. I will upgrade it to 4GB (which is practically only about 3GB).

I noticed that SFZ player does the same thing BTW. And this also happened in Tracktion so it isn't Reaper's doings, I presume. Now, more importantly, it this behaviour is unavoidable, how come I haven't heard about it ever? grin
