Hi,

just installed SC2. Works really GREAT smiley very nice job!
got 3 questions:

1.How can i automate a filter in Cubase? (C4) (for example a low pas filter on a sample in midi channel 1)
2.Does this version have direct disk streaming?
3.Can i browse to a sample without adding shortcuts to the database / refresh the database? (i often change samples and it takes a long time to refresh everytime..)

thanx!

1 Yes by using controllers in the modulation matrixes

2 I donīt know about that.

3 No.You must use the browser or the "replace" buttons in the zone window. The replace button scrolls the samples from the point where you are currently located in the browser window which allows you to try out new samples without dragging them.

Configure controllers in the  configuration window of Short as CCīs  and the you can either use the midieditors i Cubase or external hardware to control them.
Use the modulation routing in Short to assign controllers (C1-C16) to functions.

Here is a preset that shows one way of using the modwheel as source for changing things. The modwheel can be replaced by for example C1 to do the job.

I downloaded your file as Ive been trying to figure out how to use controllers. For now Im assigning filters to my modularion or pitch ben wheel. In fact Im assiging everything that can beassigned to them which may actually be causing some of my problems. How do I load your file in to SC2. Its not a patch is it? so where do I put it.

Another thing you may be able to help me with bluelight.  WHen I make patches I can name them and save them etc. But when I reload them there is nowhere on SC2 that indicates the name of the patches. Is this something Im doing wrong or was that still to be implemented (btw I can see the names in the browser)

If you select 'Part' at the top right it should then display the patch name at the top left in the patch save box.

Mart.

It doesnt do that on my copy of SC2.  The onlt ime I see patch names is in the browser or when I hit save patch and then manually write a patch name in.

I thought there was something up with this because even a beta version would let you see the patch names.

Wonder if I should reinstall SC2?

Any other ideas?

OK, i tried what you said and can see whats going on in SC1.  But the 16 sliders on my copy of SC2 just dont do anything period, nothing at all no matter what I do. have I to assign CC numbers on the preferences pages or something?
