Arksun is one of the most talented third-party preset designers around, having done popular demo tracks and soundsets for Lennar Digital's Sylenth1, Rob Papen's Blue, and several LinPlug products. Over at kvraudio.com, he's asking folks to vote for which VSTi he should turn to next, and Surge is one of the choices he put in the poll.

I think voting for Surge would be a good way to support the product. I'm not a likely customer for a soundset, even though I admire Arksun's work, because I'd rather program all my own sounds. But I voted for Surge because I think it will make the instrument even more attractive to customers who do value the availability of large preset collections, and because demos of the new soundset will help draw attention to Surge. Basically, it helps to ensure a bright future for the instrument.

The poll is at http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3197769

Wow, yeah the poll seems to have closed sooner than I expected, it only ran for something like 24 or 48 hours. Anyway, Surge had a respectable third-place showing (bearing in mind that one of the "other" votes belongs to Surge too -- so it placed ahead of Massive and other synths with big marketing machines behind them).

...perhaps some other professional sound designer will make some banks for surge

see this thread too http://forum.vemberaudio.se/index.php/topic,1091.0.html

I'm a fan of Adam Szabo soundbanks e.g.

and I think there are a lot of sound designers around who would love making banks for surge

I think the ones who makes the more experimental banks will be easier to convince or people which did banks for wavetable synths

but it's quite a problem that surge is not available as a boxed version and that the marketing behind surge is not that big so the
sound designers are not sure of the viabilty of making soundbanks.
although Surge does have such a huuuuuge potential, better than any NI, Arturia or Rob Papen synth
I would like Surge to be available as a boxed version and to see Claes introducing Surge to the Musikmesse in Frankfurt or in Anaheim and a Review in some music mags like e.g. www.amazona.de would imho increase Surge's popularity and bring much more sound designers to make soundbanks for this synth.

right. surge have really much potential. but i think claes have not so much time work all the time on it.
what surge needs is more worker (coder) that they can faster develop and support the people.
the features that surge have is so amazing! but its really to unknown. all people needs to be spamed with surge!!!

people you can make some videos an put them into youtube for promotion for surge. maybe then will come more people here and make some sound banks for it.
because when more popularity then it will go on!
